Skyring Tce Project
OVERVIEW
LOCATION: Inner-city apartment, Brisbane, Australia
SPACE: Two bedroom + media room
SCOPE: Renovations, furniture, fittings, artwork, kitchenware, bedding, rugs, window treatments, lighting
BUDGET: $60,000
BRIEF: ‘Create a place of solace to enjoy coming home to after a busy day. It also needs to cater to entertaining friends on a regular basis.’
After buying this inner-city property off the plan and renting out for two years, our client was eager to move in. Running a large company in Brisbane, he didn’t have the time to be invest in creating his ideal abode, nor did he know where to start. His first words to us where, ‘Joc, you know I have no taste, so you need to help me and work your magic’.
We started by moving the master bedroom door away from the kitchen to the other end of the living room and adding a barn style door to the walk-in robe and en-suite. The carpet was removed in the living room and replaced with beautiful herringbone timber floors and a wool rug.
Custom cabinetry for the TV and foxtel box and replacement of parts of the kitchen cabinetry in oak lightened the previously dark rooms. As an entertainer, our client wanted quality kitchenware and glassware, we also sourced cookbooks, napery, wine decanters, platters and literally everything he would need to host his friends. We pride ourselves on a nose to tail service for clients who live a busy life and require us to take care of all the small details in making a house into a home.
A bespoke leather bed was made and limited edition and original artworks/mirrors added. The terrace was completed with a high table and chairs, beautiful plants plus more casual seating and outdoor rug.
We were really fortunate to have a lovely client who isn’t afraid of colour and texture and he gave us a free reign to create a new home for him. His testimonial and before photos are at the bottom.

Testimonial
"I was very fortunate to employ the skills of Jocelyn from Little Bowerbird/The LifeStyler to coordinate, decorate & source basically everything required for me to move into my Newstead apartment. After several early discussions to figure out my “brief”, taste & style I was confident to basically give Joc a free reign. I couldn’t be happier with the results & love my new space! Her no fuss approach & eye for detail really impressed me. Little was required by myself and Joc was a pleasure to work with. She worked to a budget and produced pretty much a `move in’ with nothing to do, warm, “homely’ apartment. I couldn’t recommend Joc highly enough & she would be my “go to girl’ in any future projects. “
